Financial Literacy: A Brain-Based Learning Class All Families Need!
Help me give my students challenging integer learning activities by providing them with financial literacy games, personal finance flashcards, and more.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project was created exclusively to support the teachings of financial literacy in the classroom and expand into the home and lives of my scholars. Having the opportunity to teach Talented and Gifted Scholars in an urban city school of West Dallas grants the PERFECT opportunity to teach them early on about the financial aspect of life and how it impacts ALL outcomes.
Charles Schwab's belief that financial education can open doors and change lives aligns solely with my passion for financial literacy education for all of my scholars and their families.
This collection was designed for students just like mine and uses financial, math-based games to promote real-world math skills. Having access to multiple copies of certain games will allow my teachings to continue to promote safety protocols during the COVID pandemic and provide multiple students and their families an opportunity to play and learn at home and expand financial literacy with their families during this ongoing Pandemic. In an effort to also encourage family time together and a weekly Game Night, I am hopeful this project repeated will help me to get at least 1 Board Game into the hands and homes of all of my students and their families.
This project is helping by enabling me to offer my students the financial literacy knowledge, behaviors, and confidence they and their families need to thrive.
