Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students attend a Title One school where they need consistent opportunities to practice what they are learning. They need to practice the skills they have been taught so they will be remembered the next day.

Special needs students need to have differentiated instruction to hone their skills.

Having small groups working on finance games like Legacy, Operation Integer, and Allowance will help them apply their math skills to real world situations.

Games are a great tool teachers can use for practicing strategies with one small group, while effectively reteaching another group. Through group play, these students will retain what they have been taught.

In my classroom, students are below grade level and trying to catch up. I have students that come for extra support throughout the day. Sometimes students may finish early and I would like to offer them a different way to practice what they have learned. Also having examples of real bills and coins will help them understand the money they will be using. Understanding money is a necessary skill that will be with them for the rest of their lives!
