Help me give my students some really fun hands-on learning practice with numbers and geography AND develop fine motor skills with sensory beads, color sorting and Dot Art Painters.
I am a special education teacher of students with moderate to severe disabilities. My job is to support my students in inclusive learning environments alongside their typical grade/age appropriate peers with the support and services needed to accomplish their individual goals. In an inclusive setting, it is my responsibility to collaborate with the general education teachers to facilitate learning in math and reading literacy, social relationships, and adaptive skills resulting in increased academic success for my students.
I want my students to be stimulated by high expectations with as many resources, materials, and access to curriculum as possible.
My Project
We are back in the classroom and it is time for some hands-on learning! My students need materials for small hands to handle that are engaging and give hands-on practice after more than 15 months of distance learning! They will learn to count and understand one-to-one correspondence with picture puzzles getting hands-on practice with numbers 1-10. The children will develop fine motor control, sorting skills and eye/hand coordination with engaging materials such as the Tweezer Tongs Color Sorting Kit, Squish & Squeeze Sensory Beads and the Dot Art Painters. Finally, my 3rd grade students will discover the geography of the U.S.A. through a puzzle map of the states - a colorful, engaging activity that makes learning fun!
