This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It is very difficult to teach a student that is not present on a daily/consistent basis. I am requesting gift cards as a PBIS incentive and reward for my students. In the past, students would ask their family to stay home just because. Families would grant their wish and the student would miss a day of learning. As a motivation to attend school, students will be entered into a weekly raffle, if they are present EVERYDAY within that week.
School success begins with attendance.
Last school year when I offered this incentive, not only did my attendance increase, my math and literacy data increased as well. I also ended the school year with the highest average attendance.
Thank you for helping me to motivate my students to encourage their families to bring them to school. This allows me to deliver instruction to the majority.
