This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have started a new school library for our students to enjoy during their non-academic and lunch period. Because we have just started out, there are a lot of shelves that need to be filled and we want to fill them with books our students will love to read.
Our students have a variety of tastes and interests so our book list is wide and varied as well.
We have a wide variety of students who use the library and because of this we have a variety of tastes to cater to. Because of this we have tried to make sure that the books we are requesting fall into many different types and genres. Some are manga, others graphic novels, and some are chapter books. Some of them are fiction and some of them are nonfiction. All of these books will go directly to serving our student population. These books will help not only inspire a love of reading in our students, but also provide them with literacy and fluency practice as they read. We hope to see all of our students enjoy our library this year, and with these donations we can make that a success.
