This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of the students in my school come from low-income households. Our community is composed of very diverse backgrounds and cultures.

As a teacher of preschool students, my goal is for them to feel comfortable so that they can be engaged and involved in their hands-on learning.

Many of my students come to school in uniforms that are very worn out or too small because they have been handed down from older siblings and/or family members. They also do not usually have enough for the week and generally do not have washer/dryers in their homes. Therefore, students may come in the same shirt/pants for several days or miss school when they do not have a uniform.

Young children also sometimes have accidents (bathroom / lunch) and need to have access to clothing at school. Many parents can not afford to send extra clothing to school. Help me provide my young students with uniforms for school.

School uniforms are essential so they can attend class and learn for their future. Having the appropriate clothing not only gives them self-confidence but also promotes good hygiene. Please, help us have a successful school year and a positive experience!
