This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are dreamers, believers, and leaders. They are kind, inquisitive, and hardworking. In my class, most students are English Language Learners, with 65% of the students at the school speaking a first language other than English. Because we are a full inclusion school, many of my students also have a variety of disabilities.

The school serves a high-poverty area in Boston, and the faculty and staff are committed to providing our students with the best education, for they deserve nothing less.

My Project

A car can't run without fuel. A brain can't think without food! My fifth graders' brains and bodies are growing every day. They need healthy snacks to help them flourish physically and mentally.

For many of my students, the school is their main source of daily food.

Though students received free breakfast and lunch, like most people, they still get hungry during the day. Pretzels and fruit snacks are healthy, non-perishable snacks that students can eat while they work. Full bellies will fuel their brains. Please consider donating to this project so my students can focus on reaching their goals, instead of the rumbling in their stomachs.
