Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a Title I school in a city school district. In our public city school, many scholars are diverse, multiple language learners and at-risk readers. Currently, the entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Many scholars are also from low-income households. However, they are warm, loving and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children.
I enjoy providing scholars a multitude of experiences to connect the curriculum and enhance their learning while promoting equitable access and allowing them to be creative and stimulate their curiosity.
My scholars are eager to learn, excel and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I am able to reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for 18 years, and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.
My Project
The requested books will provide an assortment of personal growth and reading development material for my students. Scholars will read inspirational books to learn the power of positivity and leading by the law of attraction.
Conquer your day and you can build a successful life is the theme of all selected books.
Consistency is key. When scholars read and understand that is the small day to day steps that build a happy and successful life, they will learn to stay focused, persist and continue to strive towards their goals.
Thank you for your time, consideration and support of urban, public school children. When you care about them, you can about building a better and brighter future.
