My Students

My students are an energetic, eager-to-learn group of kids. They love to learn new things each and every day. They come to school ready to gain new knowledge about the world around them.

In fourth grade we focus on reading to learn, rather than learning to read.

Together, we read a wide range of texts in multiple genres in fourth grade that help expand their knowledge of the world around them. My students are active readers and each has their own preference for the books they reach for most. I love that my students are excited about reading and I hope they continue to find stories to entertain, teach, and motivate them as they continue through life.

My Project

Reading is the epicenter of any classroom. By fourth grade, we are reading to learn, to imagine, to grow. I have worked hard to build a classroom library, but one can never have too many books.

My students are constantly checking out books from our library, but they are craving new adventures to read about.

I have found a few bundles of well-known titles that I know my students will love to read. I just know that unboxing new adventures will get my students excited to read once more. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they see all the new stories they can experience through this project.
