My Project
In Kindergarten we are learning how to read all year long! By this time of the year, spring, most of the classroom is reading books and enjoying the wonder of stories.
I read aloud daily and give students time for choice reading during quiet time, these books will support our spring themes as well as give options for varied reading choices to my students.
The joy of fiction and nonfiction books are very important to offer as choices to increase the reading opportunities in kindergarten. Many of these titles are related to spring and science standards and skills that we will be covering. The bookmarks will be special crafts that we will make for each student to keep in their book box as a personalized marker for their reading choices and accomplishments. Baby chenille craft chicks will be "hatched" at the end of our oviparous unit that will be so exciting for these young scholars to experience and build on their knowledge in a hands on way.
