Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students love to learn, they love to develop and apply new skills, and they are resilient. We are an urban, low-income district, and our families are mostly hardworking immigrant families, many of whom speak a language other than English at home.

Students have been visiting our library media center and asking for books about their favorite characters (which we don't have).

The books that I have requested are in high demand right now, and it's so important for students to have access to the books that they want to read, to keep them motivated and foster their love of reading!

Our amazing elementary complex library serves students in four schools, and as I continue to work on turning it into a 21st century library media center and learning hub where students will collaborate and learn, I also continue to update the materials and resources that students are accessing!
