Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our high school is a small school with big school ambitions. The educators are continuously striving to make themselves better for the wonderful students who attend here. My students are English language learners who are recent immigrants to the United States. Many of my students have experienced interrupted schooling due to war or natural disaster, most recently Hurricane Maria. My students are very eager to learn everything they can to make up for their lost learning time.

If I can provide them the necessary materials to catch up to their peers, my students will shine brightly.

We need to show these students that we care and will do our best to help them in the classroom and in their new country.

My Project

My students need a new color laser printer and the accompanying color toner cartridges. My students are very artistic and enjoy sharing their talents. They need to complete a capstone presentation at the end of the school year, and this color printer will help their projects and presentations come to life.

Additionally, I would really love to have a color printer for my classroom to provide engaging hand-outs for my English Language Learners.

The school only provides a black and white printer which is often out of commission, under repair or being utilized by other teachers. Their school work will make much more sense to them, they will learn the language and make their presentations more exciting.
