There are so many factors that contribute to student stress and anxiety. One of my classroom goals is to help students feel comfortable managing assignments, handout, and other classroom materials.
Helping students learn how to manage school work is a life skill I want my students to master.
Using a expandable file folder I teach students labeling and sorting for different subjects. Students will use these folders consistently in the classroom to store papers for math, reading, science, social studies, and other elementary subjects. This will help students know where there work is and minimize mess in their desk. Overall, it contributes to a comfortable learning environment.
Getting live insect specimens is a cost every year that I make for science. My students will enjoy observing the structures of a caterpillar to a butterfly.
