Help me give my students breakfast replacements, water and snacks that will help them get through the day, especially for my students who do not have the opportunity to eat breakfast or lunch at home or at school
Imagine a school in a low-income neighborhood, where students come to school to engage in the start of a positive promising future. But how can you succeed if you are limited by lack of resources? These are my students and this is their story. My students are enthusiastic to come to class each and every day, to learn something new, having discussions of various topics and ultimately preparing them with the knowledge and skills that will help them succeed beyond high school.
Although resources are limited, my students still find the positive in any negative aspects there may be.
My students all come from different range of backgrounds whether culturally to financially, however we all believe we are family.
My Project
Providing snacks for my underprivileged students will give them an opportunity to learn without having the disruption of hunger. Many of my students come from low-income homes, where often times students do not have the opportunity to benefit from having breakfast. Some live further away from the school so it is difficult for them to take advantage of the free breakfast given in the school. Many students state how they do not particularly like the food provided for lunch; therefore, they do not wish to eat it.
Having snacks for my students such as granola bars, cereal, and even water can prevent students from hunger hindering them from being successful in class.
Snacks can also be used as a praise system where if students are excelling or improving in certain areas, I can praise them for their hard work and give them incentives for doing so.
