My Students

I teach in a city school with students from all different backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses. Not every student has the same resources to bring to school. Some students do not even come with paper and pencil in hand; while other students have any resource they want. It is very difficult to make a "level playing field" when students some students don't have their basic needs like food and shelter met.

We need are in need of basic necessities to help children who have nothing.

We provide students who are classified as homeless a bag full of food to take home on the weekends so they will not go hungry.

My Project

My students need FOOD! There are 22 students who are considered homeless at my school. We provide these students with afternoon snacks as well as bags full of food for the weekend. This program is directly funded by donors like you as well as the teachers and community.

Our food shelves are getting low and we need to restock the food closet.

We are in need of easy, microwavable foods that students can prepare themselves. It is statically proven that students who are hungry do not succeed. We are trying everything in our power to help these students succeed and get the on a level playing field with the rest of their classmates.
