My fifth-grade students need learning tools to help enhance our math, science, reading and social studies lessons.
This is the first year that I will be teaching reading and social studies and these resources will be a blessing!
I moved to fifth grade this past year and had minimal resources from my previous grade levels. This project will provide us with the resources my students and I need for the reading, math, science and social studies lessons this year.
Our reading curriuclum refers to various locations in the USA, my students will benefit from the dry erase map of the USA beause we will be able to refer to it and mark the locations we are reading about. The tab dividers will be used for our reading journals to divide them into 3 sections. The magnetic notebook paper will be used for me to model the journal entries for them.
The travel toothbrush holders will be used for pencil management. We struggled last year never having enough sharp pencils. Students will now be issued 5 pencils per week and will have a container to store them in.
The digital alarm will be used to not only keep track of time but as a visual timer for timed activities and assessments. All of the science and math materials will be amazing additions to our STEM Cart (packing tape for STEM projects, magnets, prisms, library card projects to label STEM bins, rulers, geometric cube poster) The birthday bracelets will be used for our Leader in Me class to help build culture and celebrate each other.
I teach at a Title I school, 98% of students at my school are eligible for free lunch. This project will provide our fifth graders and I with important learning tools to enhance the curriculum.
