My Project

My students are enthusiastic and curious readers who thrive when they have access to a wide variety of engaging books that match their diverse interests and reading abilities. They are eager to explore new genres, immerse themselves in compelling stories, and learn about the world around them through literature. However, the current selection in our classroom library does not adequately support their needs. As a former second grade teacher, much of my existing collection consists of early elementary titles that are no longer age-appropriate or challenging enough for my current fifth grade students. These books do not reflect the maturity, complexity, or range of topics that upper elementary readers seek. In order to foster a love of reading and promote literacy growth, it is essential to provide them with access to high-interest, developmentally appropriate books that will both captivate their imaginations and support their continued academic progress.
