Fifth Grade Gifted Gurus!

My Students

"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest" ~ Benjamin Franklin. If my students receive an investment in my proposal that is related directly to the required curriculum standards they are required to know, they will grow up and become college and career ready, prepared to take on the world.

My students are amazing thinkers!

They are all inquisitive and have a brilliant, inquiring, and vibrant personality with a story that needs to be told. My school is an inner-city Title I school, and I need a laptop and other organizational materials so they can not only master but exceed the required rigorous learning Technology standards and expectations I have set for them. My students are all advanced and exceed both the National and State proficiency requirements, therefore I feel privileged to teach such an extraordinary group of 27 students. If I don't challenge them every minute of every day, they easily lose interest if I don't meet their needs by challenging them through technology and individual need. My school and parents are all amazing and supportive of my methods of instruction that challenge each and every one of them according to their needs. Whenever I need help with anything in the classroom, I know I can call any one of my parents and they will be there to help.

My Project

This project is so important and will help each and every one of my students immensely because technology and organizational skills are crucial to expanding my students' knowledge and thinking. In addition, recent budget cuts have negatively impacted my goal to increase all of my students' global awareness of the recently updated required technology standards that are closely aligned with the new, rigorous curriculum standards that embed technology into all other subjects. Finally, these supplies will allow my students to participate in inquiry based projects that will help them learn the curriculum and prepare them for the future. With the additional laptop, every student will have access to a computer every day of every week and the laptop will help all of them become College and Career ready by the end of fifth grade.

This project will improve my classroom immensely as I have no closet space and the organizational materials will help all of my students become more organized, be able to find all of their supplies quicker, and, as a result, be prepared for every subject in order to master the required learning objectives.

Finally, the laptop will give all of my students access to a computer every day of every week and will help all of them become College and Career Ready by becoming proficient with technology.
