Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Costumes obtained through this project will be worn during school and community performances. Students will demonstrate dance skills as well as poise. Students learn rhythm, choreography and teamwork while participating in Fiesta.
Our goal is to perform at our highest capability while looking our best in culturally appropriate attire.
Most students show some improvement in reading and math because of the stamina and attention to detail needed to dance. They also learn to be spatially aware and to adjust as the music changes.
We are a Title I school serving homeless, physically challenged and neuro-divergent students who also participate in Fiesta and other afterschool clubs.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
