My Students

In my class, it is all about what my students can do, not what they can't. All of my students have disabilities but that does not stop them from being great, productive students. We take complex tasks and break them down as a team. Writing a whole paragraph about cells? Not a problem. I will start the sentence and the students finish them or point to a picture that finishes the sentence. Any student can finish the task if we just adjust the starting point.

Idaho is ranked fifty-first in the country for spending per pupil.

This means that classrooms in Idaho do not get extra money for technology or interactive lessons. My district also does not allow asking the students to buy materials to be shared by the class such as tissues or crayons. This means I have to make every penny count in my class.

My Project

Reading, writing and math are so important, but my students have been so focused on improving their fundamentals over the years, that they missed out. They missed some science and social studies lessons while they were receiving extra help.

Now is our time to introduce my students with special needs to the wonders of the world.

With virtual reality head sets, my students can travel to Paris or swim in the ocean. With the Snap Circuits, my students can learn how electricity turns on a light or makes a speaker. Please help get my students the resources to make school fun again!
