Help me give my students US flags to create a FIELD of HONOR for Memorial Day. We will discuss the importance of Memorial Day and pay respect to our fallen heroes with a Field of Honor on our front lawn.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We will educate our students on the significance of Memorial Day. We learn about major global conflicts in several courses (such as World War I, World War II, the Korean War, etc.) and discuss the differences between Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
We would like to have US flags to create a Field of Honor to recognize and honor our fallen heroes as a tribute on the front lawn of our school.
We will have an assembly involving local veterans as well.
We would like to honor the many local military personnel that gave the ultimate sacrifice. All gave some; some gave all.
Our woodshop classes will make small flagpoles for these flags. Our students will help create this Field of Honor.
