My Project
Urban schools, like the school where I teach, have some students who are highly motivated, some who are occasionally motivated, and some who care very little, if at all, about physical education. My aptitude as a physical education teacher is allowing me to bridge the misconceptions about physical education class. I teach at a Title I elementary school with a higher concentration of economically disadvantaged students because of low-income and language barriers.
My students do not automatically develop skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that lead to regular participation in physical activity.
They must be taught. The student population is learning that physical education is quickly becoming as important as their core subjects. They are realizing that physical education helps improve academics, teamwork, leadership, and listening skills, which translates into strengthened social skills and self-confidence. My physical education program deserves an opportunity to improve a child's quality of life by offering quality equipment.
A field day is a particularly important day in the life of a child in elementary school. It gives kids the chance to celebrate the school year coming to an end, show class pride, and spend a day being active. At the end of the day, it is all about creating a memorable experience. Providing safe, clean, and entertaining inflatables that inspire fun and happiness captures kids' hearts.
Field day is an opportunity for me to highlight my physical education program and my students to display their skills.
Field day is a time for me to show the entire school and community that physical education holds value. It is a chance to let them see what physically literate children look and sound like. With a great field day, I build a case to advocate for more time, money, and events for my physical education program.
