Help me give my students fidgets and sketchbooks as rewards to match their unique learning styles and social needs as we motivate and celebrate successes in learning.
As an educator, I believe social-emotional learning is equally as important as academics. I aim to design an inclusive learning community that encourages students to value their own identities as well as those of others. I want to be equipped with what my students need to succeed, whether it be fidget toys or classroom rewards such as motion toys and sketchbooks. My hope is for my students to have what they need to succeed and feel safe and happy in our fourth-grade classroom.
Some learners have unique needs that can be met with sensory toys to ease their stress and anxiety and make learning accessible to them.
My inquisitive fourth graders love learning about the world around them from the fidgets they fiddle with to the sketches they doodle up. The incentives on our rewards cart, like sketchbooks and fidgets, are thoughtfully selected to meet the needs and wants of my learners to encourage them to be the best they can be and think outside the box. One way to support all learners is by having rewards available for my students to celebrate successes and accomplishments in our learning community. Thank you for helping make our school an inclusive place to be!
