it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English Language Learners from many Spanish, French and Arabic-speaking countries. I also teach students from Bangladesh and Albania. They are a diverse group of learners and they acquit themselves admirably to the difficult process of learning the English language and American culture.
My Project
I teach English Language Learners. My students come from many countries and they arrive in New York City at different times in their lives. However, most of my students are also Students with Disabilities. One way in which they struggle with expectations is a marked difficulty focusing on school work and classroom norms. These students frequently have recourse to repeated motions, tending to personal supplies, need for food or drink, and other distractions that prevent them from focusing on their tasks, especially reading and writing. I believe that fidgets will help them with the physical aspect of their disabilities so that they can exercise a joy of reading, my target goal as a teacher.
