My Project
Our school uses Bucket Filling and the Nurtured Heart concept to reward positive behavior and highlight those students who have shown themselves to be kind, respectful, and ready to learn.
Fidgets are universal tools that can be given to students with and without disabilities because it's all about helping individuals understand their bodies.
Fidget tools are given to each teacher to use with their students in the classroom. In addition, we give out prizes for Bucket Filling. These prizes include the fidgets, which allow students to relieve anxiety, and support those with various attention and social-emotional processing challenges which allows them to focus their minds on the task at hand. All students deserve access to these materials!
Each year, we put together fidget boxes for any student and staff member in the school building who needs sensory input. They are allowed to borrow between 2 to 5 objects based on a few factors like noise, texture, color, and ability to manipulate the objects. Our students deserve access to a variety of materials that can help reset their bodies, allow them to focus, and calm down their minds.
I can't wait to support students in multiple ways through this DonorsChoose project!
