My Project

First grade students are often full of energy, full of questions, and eager to explore the world around them. As they engage in the classroom environment, they must learn to manage various stimuli that can arise, such as interruptions, interactions with classmates, and the challenge of maintaining their attention over extended periods.

One effective strategy to support my students in this journey is to provide them with fidget options.

Fidget tools can play a significant role in enhancing their learning experience. These tools can help improve focus, regulate emotions, and minimize distractions in a busy classroom setting. For students who experience anxiety or stress, or for those diagnosed with attention deficits, fidgeting can serve as a helpful coping mechanism.

In first grade, students are not only acquiring academic knowledge but are also developing critical skills to navigate external factors that can impact their learning. These factors may include stress, anxiety, neglect, insufficiently met basic needs, and difficulties in concentration. By incorporating fidget tools into their daily routine, we can create a more supportive and conducive learning environment that addresses both their educational and emotional needs.

Ultimately, fostering an understanding of how to handle these external pressures is just as crucial as the academic content they are learning. Providing resources that support their emotional well-being will empower first graders to thrive both in school and beyond.
