Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are some of the most amazing artistic kids in Los Angeles. It is always a challenge for them to learn chemistry, but I strive to make the class fun, engaging and achievable.
I find that some students have high levels of stress when learning a new subject such as chemistry and my goal with the requested fidget toys is to give them sensory support to help them manage that stress in a healthy way.
With these fidget toys available in class, I imagine a classroom where students would be free to borrow them on an as needed basis, taking the time to think about what they need in that moment. This will allow many of my students to alleviate their stress without having to leave the classroom and miss out on valuable instruction.
