Fidget for Learning

Help me give my students on the Autism Spectrum items to help acclimate them to a traditional classroom setting.

My Project

I teach STEM lab at my elementary school. Our entire student population attends STEM lab once a week with their class. One-third of my student population are children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I try to give all my students the same opportunities. I want all of my students to be successful on their own level. However, with my ASD students I give them a 15 minute lesson and then 15 minutes with fidget/building toys. I don't want to overwhelm them. I want to give them time to learn. This schedule also allows them to fulfill their sensory needs but also feed their creativity. Each year I try to add more of these materials to my classroom.
