My Project

I teach a vibrant group of third graders in a suburban community near a large Air Force base. My classroom reflects the beautiful diversity of our community — culturally, linguistically, and academically. We are a Title I school, and many of my students come from low-income households where access to resources can be limited. Our class includes students who receive special education services, English language learners, and several gifted and talented students. Several of my students have ADHD or autism, and some have mobility challenges that make sitting in traditional desks uncomfortable or distracting. Despite these challenges, my students are eager learners, kind classmates, and creative problem-solvers who thrive when given the right tools and support.

I am requesting a variety of flexible seating and sensory support tools to create an inclusive, comfortable, and engaging learning environment.

These materials include Surf lap desks, inflatable wiggle seat cushions, flex-space balance ball seats, floor cushions, chair fidget bands, and clipboards. These options will allow students to choose seating that fits their individual sensory and physical needs, helping them stay focused, comfortable, and ready to learn throughout the day. Flexible seating also promotes collaboration, student choice, and self-regulation, making our classroom a space where all learners can thrive.
