My Students
I teach kindergarten in South Carolina and I currently have 20 students in my class. Providing the necessary hands-on learning tools has become very difficult amidst all the budget cuts and financial woes, but I am determined to find a way to engage my students in meaningful activities!
As a kindergarten teacher, I want my students to love learning and be excited about school.
Nothing generates more excitement than animals in the classroom. That's why I would like to establish two fiddler crab habitats. Let me share my vision with you.
My Project
We have an empty shelf in the science center in my classroom just begging for movement and life. I would begin by setting up the fiddlers crab habitats filled with sand and lots of crawling crabs. The students would assume full responsibility of the daily tasks of feeding and watering the crabs. We would incorporate our fiddler crabs into our beach/ocean unit. We would also use different diagrams to compare/contrast fiddler crabs with the hermit crabs that already live in my classroom. I believe live animal specimens provide endless possibilities and I want my students to experience as many learning activities as possible.
DonorsChoose and you can make my wishes come true.
Your donation will ensure that students who have never been to the beach can still experience the wonderful treasures it has to offer like fiddler crabs. Please consider my proposal and thank you for your generosity
