Fiction Fashion Show

My Project

Each year my 5th graders love reading "The Hunger Games" as a group. When we get to the part where they describe the eccentric clothing the capitol people wear, my students always have their own ideas about the kind of crazy outfits they'd design.

This year, I want my students to create a pattern, measure, cut, and sew their own fashion designs in miniature scale for a fashion show to go along with our fiction class book club!

I will even let students who want to keep their designs more secret use a desk no peeking divider. This is an activity I think all of my students would be excited to complete and present.
