Few Resources, Extreme Need- Back to School in an Epicenter
Help me give my students what they need to be successful in this crazy school year. Our budget for supplies has been completely slashed this year!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At my Title I school, students come from a variety of backgrounds. They frequently tell me that they enjoy science class the most because they are exposed to seeing, feeling, and creating new things. I have the pleasure of teaching honors 8th-grade students and teaching them an accelerated high school course. This group of students is extremely self-motivated, driven, and interested in the sciences. Many of these students attend science specialized high schools after graduation.
This year, I am entering the building with a heavy heart as many of my students lost loved ones due to COVID.
Our school is located in the epicenter of the pandemic in NYC. Please enable me to welcome my students into a warm, loving classroom with materials for a variety of planned projects during this troubling time.
My future students, and I, thank you!
My Project
Thank you so much for taking the time to browse my Donors Choose project. It really means a lot! We are just 13 days away from welcoming students back to the school building. Many, if not all, of my students were directly impacted by COVID. We lived through the "epicenter of the epicenter" of the pandemic and are eager to get back to "normal," but anxious about the lack of resources we will have accessible during this school year of budget cuts.
As a science teacher who will be servicing both remote and in-person students, the items on this list portray a variety of needs.
They range from an easel I hope to use while conferencing with students to sanitation posters I would love to put up in the classroom to promote social distancing and hygiene requirements. We do many "hands-on" activities that will require more materials, simply due to the inability to share; therefore, I am requesting multiples of various lab supplies. My students deserve the chance to be able to participate in all of the activities they normally would. Please help me make this possible!!
