My Students
We are the inaugural cohort in the ONLY French Immersion program in LAUSD! Our kids were the first to take the plunge into the French Immersion program in Kindergarten, and now they are in 2nd grade! We feel an obligation to keep our "avant garde" (literally "advance guard," or the "cutting edge" in French!) students on the very edge of innovation, challenge, and resources!
We need some help in our classroom learning garden and in our very innovative CGI math program!
My Project
I know this is a funny combination, but these are two sets of expensive materials we desperately need to further our learning! We are so fortunate to have a 4' x 18' garden plot right outside our classroom door where we can experiment with gardening, botany, biology, and other life sciences, but the soil is tired, compacted, and depleted! What we really need is some vermiculite to help with the compacted clay, and some compost to bring nutrients back to our soil. As for math, it's SO important to have large Post-it chart paper for CGI math because you can do a group project with the kids and immediately post it on the walls, classroom bulletin boards, or school hallways, but it's so expensive!
