My Students

For some of us, a high school diploma would not have been possible without the support of a team and the discipline that sports give you. As our track team continues to grow, we would love to have the tools needed to help us make the best of our practices so our team can reach new goals.

We are one of five all-girl public schools in New York City, with students ranging from 6th to 12th grades.

Many of our girls come from low income areas where the high school graduation rates are on a decline. Our goal is to empower these young ladies by providing them with a strong education and to help them realize that college is more than just a dream, it is their future. My students are motivated and dedicated young women who prove, everyday, that young women are so much more than a pretty face. Our young ladies have strong academic minds and huge life goals.

My Project

My students will use this equipment for indoor and outdoor track training. We have an influx of new girls jointing our team each year with different talents. The hurdles will be used for our girls who dream of racing the 55, 100, 200, and 400 meter hurdles. The elastic crossbar will be used for high jump training and will help in training our brand new pole vaulter. This equipment will help our girls boost their self-confidence and in turn help them to hone their skills and master their craft.

In the 4 years that I have been coaching track, I've seen mean girls turn into supportive girls and girls who once stood alone, now standing with others.

This donation means so much more than just helping us train our students for track and field events, it is helping us train our girls for life!
