My Project

Diversity in reading is incredibly important to myself and my students. My school has no library, and our county library is 30 minutes away, therefore my classroom is the library for all students 6-12. All students from both the middle school and high school frequent my shelves, constantly looking for new things to read and new stories to learn. Students of all ages, genders, and ethnicities deserve to see representation on those very shelves.

At the moment, my library is sorely lacking in nonfiction books, and stories with protagonists of color.

My aim is to fix this hole with this project.
