Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I enjoy the honesty my students demonstrate. When spending time together with my students, we talk about a variety of topics. We laugh and we enjoy sharing about ourselves. Many times we talk about difficult feelings or situations. When these moments come, we pause and learn about coping skills and grow in empathy.
I want to continue to nurture their empathy and sympathy for one another.
The books will help us expand our knowledge of feelings and provide talking points regarding emotions. Together with their honesty and openness with each other, we can have various lessons around emotions. Our social and emotional development and growth helps us build community in our class and at our school.
