My Students
My students are outstanding Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets that are taught citizenship skills throughout the year. We incorporate the JROTC mission into everything we teach--To motivate young people to be better citizens. We reinforce the JROTC mission during the application phase of training and extracurricular activities. We are training tomorrow's leaders.
The cadets host and support an array of school and community events such as Patriot Day (9/11) Flag Raising Ceremony, Veterans Day Program, Military Appreciation Night, Memorial Day Parades, Military Ball, and the school homecoming activities.
The cadets are committed to the JROTC program with more than 62% of the cadet population participating in JROTC-related extracurricular activities such as the Student Leadership, Drill and Color Guard Teams. These amazing cadets conduct fundraising activities to support 100% of the school and community activities they participate in.
Our school is a rapidly growing suburban community high school with more than 55% of the students on free and reduced priced lunch. More than 17% of the student population is enrolled in the JROTC program.
My Project
We have outstanding cadets who take pride in their appearance and the wearing of their uniform, especially during the many school and community events hosted and supported by the cadets. Even though cadets issued one uniform, however at times our activities required our cadets to wear an alternate uniform.
The funding of this project will provide the additional polo shirts needed to outfit all the cadets in the program in an alternative uniform.
Some of the activities and events hosted by the cadets require less formal attire than the Army Service Uniform and more formal attire than tee-shirts. Polo shirts with the school emblem are the perfect attire for these special occasions. In addition, these polo shirts will enhance the appearance of our cadets during daily school activities, community-supported events, and JROTC sports events.
