This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first grade scholars are learning to navigate through elementary school. They are learning skills I hope will carry them through their educational career. This year, they are being introduced to flexible seating, where choice rules and they are encouraged to know themselves as learners.

Having multiple options for work areas is essential to flexible seating.

I would like an additional rug so students can work collaboratively and not crowd our main rug. If issues arise, I plan to bring out the spots to assign students. Lastly, clipboards would provide students with a surface to work on when moving between the various seating options.
