This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students face daily challenges that extend far beyond the classroom. They come from high-poverty neighborhoods, represent diverse cultures and backgrounds, including students from other countries, and often carry emotional burdens that no child should have to bear. Mental health struggles are real in our school, yet the stigma surrounding these issues prevents many students from asking for help.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) provides a powerful, research-backed way to support these students helping them manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and develop resilience.

Unfortunately, we lack the resources needed to bring these lessons to life. By donating to this project, you’ll help provide SEL books and materials that reflect our students’ experiences, support their mental well-being, and give them tools to thrive both in and out of school. We would also like anger management toys, emotions plush toys and sensory bins.

Your support can make a lasting difference for children who need it most.
