My Project
I believe that every child deserves a nurturing and supportive environment where they can thrive. Many of my students experience sensory challenges that can affect their learning, social interactions, and overall well-being. My students concentrate best when their hands are kept busy. To address these needs, I am launching this project which includes items for our "Sensory Corner" so that students can use them when a break is needed, without disrupting the rest of the class and will also learn to self regulate their emotions consistently and independently.
My students come to school everyday with smiles on their faces and excitement in their eyes.
My classroom this year consists of six students who are autistic. They are both verbal and non verbal and are amazing! Sensory toys will enable my students to focus on classroom lessons, while still having an outlet for their energy.
The sensory objects in my basket have been carefully chosen to balance the students' sensory needs with their need to focus on what is going on around them. Helping my students feel the difference will really make the difference.
