Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in need of a corner where they can safely process their emotions as needed. Our classroom does not have these essential items to make them feel like they are at home.
Students need to feel safe in school at all times, and if they don't, they need somewhere within the room that feels safe to them.
Students can reflect, practice breathing, complete social and emotional coloring pages, read a book, and so much more in the comfort of the cozy corner.
My students are from Bridgeport, CT, a district where resources are scarce, and home lives can be difficult. They are lovely little humans who need a chance to learn how to deal with their big feelings as they grow up.
