My Project

Emotional regulation helps in a multitude of ways. A safe space is essential in practicing emotional regulation. Learning to identify emotions, feel it, and tools to move through it allows children to be present! It allows them to build relationships, learn new things, and problem solve. Most importantly in my class, it allows them to CREATE! Art can create such a sense of freedom and safety. I want to create an intentional space that allows students to feel, to reflect, and to create. The impact of reflection, emotional regulation, and creating goes beyond the art room. It prepares them to explore, build ideas, and create in all areas of their life.
