Feel, Pour, Explore. Playing in Sensory Bins With Friends

Help me give my students a way to experience sensory play with other children, at the same time limiting the sharing of germs. This sensory table has 4 bin spaces so each child can explore independently.

My Students

Energetic, bright, curious, independent, and inquisitive, describe my 28 Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten students.

Positive learning experiences where the children in my class are able to make choices and explore freely help them to feel competent and confident.

Regardless of what is happening in our world, these beautifully diverse children know that their Kindergarten/TK class is safe and filled with a joyful variety of playful opportunities to fuel their intellect.

This DonorsChoose.org project will provide 28 students the opportunity to have sensory exploration time - safely. I'm passionate about helping my students be the best they can be.

My Project

A sensory table for sand and water will provide learning opportunities for my Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten children to explore through their senses. Sensory play can calm, focus and engage children.

A sensory table is the perfect place for children to work together, develop social and academic language skills and challenge their own curiosity.

Working near others offers many valuable, spontaneous socialization opportunities to young children especially those who are learning a second language or have other social challenges. Play is the way children learn best. Sensory play is a natural way to support this learning.
