Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in sixth grade and are eager to learn and play. Many of my families are low income or live in poverty. My students are excited to come everyday to school because sometimes the only meal they get is from school.
My students' minds are hungry not just for knowledge but also for food to fuel their curiosity.
Food of any sort can change my students' mindset and overall mood in class; as a result, they will perform better if we are able to get them something to eat in their day before, during, or after school.
