My Project

Our school community believes no child should go hungry, even when classes are out for the summer. During the long summer break, many of our students face food insecurity because the free lunches they rely on disappear. We see worried little faces and it pains us to know some of our children wonder when or if their next meal will come. In response, parents, teachers and students are coming together in a heartfelt community service project.

We are launching Feeding Hope: A Summer Food Initiative, a volunteer-driven program to ensure that students in our school receives snacks throughout the summer.

Through packed snacks created by caring hands, my students will serve children with love and generosity, truly showing them they are not alone. Each snack pack will include child-friendly items such as chips, cookies, juice, and bottled water. Our primary goal is to decrease the number of children who struggle with hunger during the summer. Our secondary goal is for students to engage in community service by volunteering to help create snacks for students. We aim to raise awareness of food insecurity with students.

The children we serve are bright, resilient, and full of potential. By nourishing their bodies, we are also feeding their dreams, helping them return to school healthy, confident, and ready to learn. Our community project represents more than just snacks and water it is about a community coming together in service, ensuring that every child feels seen, supported, and cared for. This initiative is a true act of community service that meets urgent physical needs while nurturing a spirit of generosity and connection among all my students. Lastly, our project is deeply inspired by the example set by Service Stars individual who shine brightly through their commitment to serving others.
