This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have requested snacks for my students for them during our after-school tutoring program. We are an inner city school and most of our students come from low socio-economic status.
Our students need academic support which we do provide them with that after school but most of our students each lunch before 11:00am.
By the end of the day they are hungry and need a little treat to help them focus and pay attention to instruction. The snacks and drinks will add to the fun of our afterschool tutoring and enrichment program. The program will be held 2 days a week from 2:50-4:15pm. Students will get support in all academic areas as well as having time to participate in fun activities like knitting and art making activities.
We would love for them to focus on their school work rather than a grumbling tummy.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
