Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is a community and career transition, multi-teacher, self-contained classroom working on a variety of academic and transitional life skills. This amazing group of students is learning how to transition academic learning into independent living in the community. Students in this program have unique academic needs and learning challenges!

Over ninety percent of my students are identified as English language learners.

This incredible group of students ranges from sixth grade to eighth grade. When the students complete their eighth-grade year, they transition to a community-academic support program in high school where they will transition to community and career work experience options. These are primarily used to launch students into community job readiness program locations where they are planning to seek valuable experience in a job of their interest.

This wonderful program provides supplemental academic student supports to engage every student in learning valuable academic and community transitional skills through an increased academic transition model.

My Project

My students are in need of afternoon snacks to feed their learning hunger needs. By helping our students' meet their hunger needs for afternoon snacks, students will increase their engagement in learning activities.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

The students are continually challenged with the afternoon learning times because of the extended timeframe from lunch to release times. This will allow students the ability to concentrate in their learning tasks and not on their hunger issues by providing nutritional snack options.
