My students need 73 book titles at various levels in order to keep growing our brain and imagination. Our classroom library is very limited and only covers a couple of genres or reading interests.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ravenous readers. In our class, we read for fun and we read to learn. As new 8th graders, my students have read most of the books in my classroom. I want to update our classroom library and add more variety of genres and themes. I want to keep up with their needs as avid readers.
I teach an energetic group of eighth graders in a public charter school.
Their enthusiasm for learning makes them so much fun to teach. As a class, we celebrate effort and success. They work very hard and try their best to reach their goals. This year, they want to become proficient readers and writers.
My students are so eager to come to school everyday. I just want them to get what they came for: a great education!
My Project
As an English teacher, I aim to inspire students to become lifelong readers. I share my passion for reading and how books have transformed my life.
This donation will turn our limited classroom library into a reading buffet. My students' brains will water as they discover the many delicious options. Certainly, they will want to try it all!
Reading reminds my students that they are scholars. As they read, they will acquire new vocabulary enabling them to express themselves confidently in their second language (orally and through writing). As they become more proficient in English, they will be able to think more critically about what they read and evaluate literature at a higher level.
This project will help my students go from good to great academically and personally. I want all my students, including English Language Learners and Special Education to be proficient or advanced in English.
This project is of great importance because it will transform students' lives academically now, and in the future.
The knowledge they gain from reading will open doors to opportunity for them. This project will help my students continue on their path towards success in high school, college, and life.
