Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine being 8 years old, walking over to the classroom library, and feeling the thrill of finding the perfect book, that one magical story that makes you fall in love with reading. Now imagine reaching for a shelf that’s missing books that reflect who you are, what you love, or what you're curious about.

That’s the reality in my classroom.

I teach a lively, curious, and resilient group of third graders who are eager to read, explore, and grow, but our classroom library simply can’t keep up with their appetite for books. Many of our current titles are outdated, worn, or irrelevant to the diverse learners in our room. Some students are just beginning their reading journey, while others are ready to soar, but we’re missing the right books to meet them where they are.

That’s why I’m asking for your help.

Your support will help us build a vibrant, inclusive library full of engaging books that reflect the interests, cultures, and experiences of the students in my classroom. From graphic novels and nonfiction animal books to inspiring biographies and culturally rich stories, these new books will invite all students to see themselves and others through the pages they turn.

When you donate, you're not just giving us books, you're giving students confidence, imagination, and a chance to fall in love with reading.Thank you for considering a donation to help us feed our bookworms and grow strong, thoughtful readers.. one book at a time.
