My Project
The science of teaching reading is a unique and exciting yet challenging task we face as teachers. It is quite literally the foundation that the rest of a child's learning builds upon. While oftentimes these foundational phonics skills are taught in the early elementary grades Pre-K to 2nd grade, we are finding that when not taught effectively we have students in upper grades who still need extra help and support. This is where having the right resources available to teach reading becomes critical to a child's success. Don't worry and have no fear, this is exactly why I have created this project to help build my students phonics and reading skills from the foundation up regardless of their grade level!

Through my experience over the years I have tried out different teaching resources and I continue on my mission to discover the best of the best that is out there to help support my students. In this project I have gathered great high quality resources I found from Lakeshore Learning to ramp up my phonics and reading instruction. The best part about it is that I can also use these materials to help support the growth of foundational language skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing for my bilingual and newcomer students.
